A familiar summer stop begins its next chapter.
For years, our family has spent summers making memories at Higgins Lake, and this little ice cream shop was part of them. We visited often, stopping in after long lake days. We never imagined that one day we would become its owners.
We’re excited (and, if we’re being honest, a little nervous) to begin this next chapter as South Shore Creamery.
We know this shop already holds a special place in the Higgins Lake community. Its previous owner, Brian, meant a great deal to the families who returned year after year. We’ve heard so many wonderful stories about him and the welcoming place he created.
As a small way of honoring Brian and the shop’s history, we’ll be keeping “Brian’s Favorite” on the menu so that a piece of what made this place special continues into its next chapter.
Our new name, South Shore Creamery, celebrates our home on the south side of Higgins Lake. Although the name is changing, our goal remains simple: to create a warm, welcoming stop for families, boaters, beachgoers, neighbors, and anyone craving a really good scoop of ice cream.
We’re working behind the scenes to prepare for Spring/Summer 2027, and we cannot wait to open the doors, meet more of our Higgins Lake neighbors, and become part of your family’s summer traditions.
If you have a favorite memory of the shop, or a flavor you always ordered, we would genuinely love to hear it. We’re listening, learning, and taking plenty of notes.
